| Cinema, Culture, Festivals | 28/06/2013

Do you want to discover emerging artistic talents? To watch  artists’ films? To wander around Hackney Wick? You have until June 30th, 2013 to do all three thanks to the inaugural edition of the Lab Film Festival.

The festival will feature over a week of short film screenings, talks, workshops and events across Hackney Wick, Fish Island and the surrounding boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham.

The opening took place on Friday June 21st at Mother Studios. This independent, non-profit artist-run studio that spans over 15,000 square feet. On the floor dedicated to the film festival, one could discover 4 films that were shown in the main projection room of the warehouse.

The organisers have established a strong network of partnerships. We are looking forward to discovering which will be selected by a jury of experts including Philip Ilson, Director of the London Short Film Festival and receive the Lab Awards.

A year-round mentoring scheme complements the festival showcase and backs its core educational mission.
