Ed Byrne - Outside Looking In
Rating:

Irish comedian, actor and voice-over artist Ed Byrne ends his latest UK stand-up tour – Outside Looking In – this week in London at Leicester Square Theatre.  Shannon Rawlins went along to see him in action and reported back for What’s On London.

Having never seen Ed Byrne live before, I wasn’t sure what to expect.  As Byrne opened his gig by telling us all to expect “the same old shit”, I was still in the dark.  However, for the following 110 minutes I found myself pleasantly surprised with what the 43 year old Irish comic had to offer.  Throughout Outside Looking In, I was engaged, entertained and enlightened.Looking around, I was possibly one of the younger members of the audience (not surprising as Ed has been on the road for many years).  Despite this, I found myself laughing away with the rest of the audience, with Byrne’s jokes appealing to everyone, not just tailored to the older members.

HIghlights included a well thought out routine about slut-shaming, toilet humour and quite the inspiring ending on how Ed is raising his children.  As a new found fan of Mr Byrne, I would highly recommend catching him live at Leicester Square Theatre this week, before the tour comes to an end.
