3 Great Ways to Round off the Summer in London

It’s that time of year again. Summer is almost drawing to a close, the kid’s will be back at school and you’ll be back a work. This list gives you a few ideas to round off a memorable summer in London.

iTunes Festival, Camden (1st to 30th September)

The iTunes Festival 2012 returns to Camden’s infamous Roundhouse, hosting thirty days of live music absolutely FREE. All you have to do is apply for tickets and you can be in with a chance of winning. You can apply for as many dates as you wish, however if you aren’t one of the lucky ones, the concerts will be streamed live online, so you can still catch all the action.

The Roundhouse is playing host to sixty artists throughout September, including R&B superstar Usher, Norah Jones, Jack White and One Direction to name a few. More acts are to being announced daily.

The Mayor’s Thames Festival, Waterloo (8th to 9th September)

This will be the last celebration for such an incredible year in the city. It is entirely free and open to all with a great mixture of live dance and music, art installations, river races, street art and much much more. It will take place on and along the river, with walkways, roads, bridges and open spaces transformed into a hub of cultural diversity and creativity. Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park, (9th September)

Hyde Park has hosted its fair share of music events this summer and will again be the host of Radio 2 Live. With live performances from some of Britain’s most popular acts and appearances from Radio 2′s most loved presenters, this is not one to miss.

Taking place on the last day of the Paralympic events, artists confirmed to play are: The Voice UK judge Jessie J, British Rocker’s Status Quo, Simply Red Frontman Mick Hucknall, London songstress Paloma Faith, US Country music stars The Band Perry, Scottish funksters Average White Band, Norwegian Folk singers Katzenjammer and hot new talent Emeli Sande.
